Baby Shower Pictures

My good friends Michonne and Courtney threw me a baby shower in April. I am so blessed to have such amazing friends and the Bean is so lucky too because he got all kinds of goodies. :) There are hundreds of pictures from that day, but I picked out my favorites to share with you. Thanks Meesh and Court for making this day so special for me and my family. And thanks to all of my friends and family that came.

Breakfast with the family before the Shower. :)

One of the amazing baskets I got that day.

Mom just informed me that the toy I am holding already has new batteries because she wore out the ones it came with. :)

The Shark Blanket that Aunt Deb made us! Perfect for those games this winter!

My favorite shirt from Michonne... :)

Michonne's mom made me a beautiful quilt! I can see where Meesh gets her amazing quilting skills!

A's Stuff!

I loved every minute of this day. From the Shower to breakfast with the family to the amazing dinner we had afterward. I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life and cannot wait to share the Bean with all of them! :)

Belly Shots!!!

I thought I would take you back through the whole progression. I didn't take as many shots as I would have liked, but I think the spacing makes for a dramatic comparison! :)

16 Weeks!

20 Weeks!

30 Weeks!

37 Weeks!

37 Weeks, a little closer up. Man have I gotten HUGE!!!! Im glad its all mostly belly.

So all in all I think I lost about 14 pounds in the begining when I was super sick, and I have put on about 28 pounds since then. So total weight gain thus far is only 14 pounds. I am pretty happy with that, although with being a bigger chick already I would have liked to have gained less. Hopefully after the baby is out I can lose all 14 and then some. :)

38 Week Update

These past couple of weeks have been super stressful to say the least. First at our 37 week growth Ultra Sound appointment they were worried that our dates were off because he was measuring 35 weeks instead of 37 with an estimated weight of 5 pounds 10 ounces. I was freaking out to say the least, first because I felt like he wasnt getting adequate nutrition and second, because I couldnt imagine extending my due date out another two weeks!
Well our 38 week appointment made me feel tons better. We did another Ultrasound, and even though he was still measuring small, he was gainging weight proportionately. Doc did not seem worried about this. Deep sigh of relief, right? Wrong. My BP was sky high at my appointment. We're talking 140/100, which for me is crazy high. Doc sent me to L&D Triage to get some labs drawn and some BPs taken and if they wouldnt go down, she was going to induce me that day. (This was Thursday, ps.) Well they came back good, and labs were clean, so we were sent home with a planned induction date of June 6th. Doc said that she had hoped to get me induced before then, but that was the soonest that they could do it. Because of the elevated BP, she doesnt want me to go past my due date.
All in all a crazy couple days. We were excited at the possibility of meeting our little guy on thursday, but thankful that we didn't have to go through the whole process of induction without even being close to ready. The thought of June 6th excites me, but it still seems far away at this point. Which leads me to my update today...
I have been having major contractions all day. None of them are consistent, but they are definitely stronger than they have ever been, and I am definitely making progress in the dilation department. I wont go into details, but just know that things are progressing. :) So now Im sitting here, breathing through contractions and waiting for Chris to get home. Nothing worth calling the Dr. over yet, but I am hoping that this will be the weekend that the Bean decides to plan his escape. I would love to not have to be induced, but even that is still in the back of my mind because my BP has been up all day as well. I think I might just be excited, so we'll see.
I will keep you all posted, you never know my next post might be the Birth Story of our little man. :)
OH! and I have a surprise for you.... PICTURES!!!! I am going to post belly shots and baby shower pictures right after this! Enjoy!

Nursery Ideas!

I wanted to post some ideas that have been floating around in my head for a while now. Chris already picked out the bedding and Auntie Michonne made the most awesome quilt I have ever seen! So I have some pretty good bases to work with.

Ok, so I like the bedding Chris picked out below to the right, but I want to stay away from making everything matchy-matchy. So I am going to mix it up with some bold colors on the walls, like a bright green and maybe a dark blue stripe. Then of course you can see I LOVE the idea of a tree on the wall. I think they’re so neat! And last but not least, a definite focal point in the room will be Meesh’s Quilt. Isn’t it lovely?!

Moving Day!

Moving day actually went very smoothly. Everything is now in the new house with the exception of a few items that we need to take apart in order to get them out of the apartment, those will be moved this weekend. :) Rooms are starting to take shape! I unpacked the kitchen yesterday and started on the bedroom. I got tired super fast though so I gave up after a bit. Today I am thinking I will tackle the rest of the bedroom and start on the nursery. There isnt much to do in there yet because we dont have any furniture, but I am hoping to get some things organized so that I can start doing something with the walls. I am not sure if I want to paint or not, but I think the room looks kind of boring without some sort of motif.

Elvis and Bella are adjusting well to their new home, and have taken a great liking to the yard. Both of them slept in the sun on the patio yesterday, so cute! So far the neighbors are ok. No complaints yet. (except maybe the guy next door who's front drive looks like a swap meet...) I really can't judge anyone though because my yard looks like hell. The owner basically stopped taking care of everything when we went under contract, so now there are waist high weeds everywhere. Going to have to get out there and take care of those soon because they are driving me insane!

Other than that, we are just figuring out how to adjust to the new drives to work. I was about 35 minutes early this am, which is no doubt better than being late, but still.

Hopefully I can get some pictures up soon of the house, I am just reluctant to put pictures up before the house is in order. You know me and my OCD...

NEW HOUSE!

We finally closed on our new house yesterday. So at least that is done and taken care of before the baby's arrival. Now we just have to get moved in! :) Pictures to come soon!

35 Weeks and counting...

Still hanging in there guys! I am measuring right on schedule and start weekly appointments next week. Hopefully we will get a good idea of how the little guy is measuring up and when we can expect him to arrive next week at our appointment. Dr. said we wont have another ultrasound until week 38, if we make it that far, which is really dissapointing. I really wanted to see him one last time on the screen before he comes into the world all bright and shiny new. I see all of the awesome ultrasound pictures that my friends have of their little ones and am slightly jealous that we haven't gotten a better picture of his cute little face. Keep your fingers crossed for me that maybe I can talk the Doc into doing one early. :)

Still no name. Its pretty sad to not be able to name your child. I am struggling with this big time and have been searching endlessly for the perfect name, which I know is out there. Wish me luck on that front.
